Name
My name is Jason Cameron and I was born REDACTED in the GTA in north york general hospital
Fav thing
My favorite thing about canada is the vastness of it and how you can live in it for 100 years and barely see any of it.
What does Canadian mean to me
I’m very abstract about this. To me, It means being born in canada, living in canada and the history of my family in canada.
Assignements
Living History - covid 19
1
Honestly, it’s all a blur to me but I remember staying home for the entirity of grade 7 and part of grade 6 due to the pandemic. during that time I learned how to code and a lot of other cool tidbits that make up who I am today.
2
I feel the pandemic was kind of a wakeup call to modern society as it hit us really fast and really strong.
3
During the pandemic, we saw a ton of masks and even fearmongering. There was still a ton of continutity and change such as people still had to get food to cook and eat, there was change though through services that delivered food to you.
4
The biggest change that I noticed was the advancement of services and platforms that distanced the customer from the source. Some examples of this would be E-learning, uber delivery, zoom, etc…
5
N/a pandemic is over.
But mostly everything returned to “normal” with the exception of services that ended up providing convenience like the ones listed in #4
6
Patriotism is highly personal and I would prefer not to answer this one.
7
I found that I sleep a lot more now after covid but thats probably unrelated.
The biggest thing it did was give me time to delve into some of my hobbies which opened up the gateways of programming to me.

:::spoiler Causes of WW1
Cause of war | Explanation of cause | How did the factor contribute to the cause of war |
Militarism / arms race | Rapidly increasing the size of one’s army so it’s too powerful to attack. | The arms race caused mass militarism across the world. The belief that a country needs to amass a strong military to defend the nation and achieve its geopolitical goals led to massive armies. |
Alliance system | Because Germany was allied austria-hungary, they declared war on Russia after it declared war on austria-hungary, which then led to France to join. After that, Germany went through Belgium which was allied with the UK, causing them to go to war. | Without any alliances, there would have been a war of this scale. War one one would cause war on all. |
Imperialism | Imperialism means conquering colonies for political and economic purposes. Kinda like a monopoly. | Due to Imperialism, the French and British empires expanded and caused high amounts of tension between different colonies and countries. |
Nationalism / national rivalries | Nationalism is the belief in a superiority of a spacific race. For example Nazi's and the ayrian race. Nationalism is racism wrapped in patriotism | Nationalism and pride led to empires expanding aggresivly. Serb nationalist memebnrs of the black hand assassinated france ferdand. |
Triple entente | Triple Alliance |
UK Russia France | Germany, Austria Hungary, Italy |
